A very diverse choice of words this year.
Oxford Dictionary chose the word "Rizz". A Gen Z term that means "style, charm or attractiveness"
Merriam Webster chose "authentic"
Cambridge Dictionary chose "hallucinate" based on the surge of interest in generative artificial intelligence

I'm curious Kerouac or anyone else for that matter.. Have you ever heard it used? I have not, it's a completely foreign word to me.

No, I've never heard it used. This would be a bit surprising when you think back on our own youth and so many of the terms that our parents couldn't escape (groovy, bag, downer, etc.). What is different now is that the generations are no longer on the same media. We just basically had television and radio, shared by all generations. Now everybody is totally dispersed on Instagram, Snapchat and all that stuff and also divided into sub categories that do not interact. It's almost surprising that the old people in charge of the dictionaries and historic channels even managed to intercept rizz as it floated by.
In a completely different category, I saw that Taylor Swift is the personality of the year for Time magazine. I thought that the choice in France of ChatGPT being the personality of the year was a bit more appropriate escpecially since so many of us have actually talked to ChatGPT personally but not to Taylor Swift.
