Any of you knits, sews, etc ?
I have started knitting again about three years ago and want to get back to crocheting (is that a word?) and sewing, especially now that I have bought a second hand sewing machine. A beautiful and very heavy Singer.

I sew, but it has been years since I did any knitting...I 'knat' myself out when I was about 15...3 sweaters (hand knit) in a month and I could never look at knitting needles since then. However a knitting machine could be great!
I do sew, hand and machine.

I sew a lot, still have my Grandmothers old Singer treadle machine that I learnt on. The Singer I use now is 30 yrs old and have recently inherited my brothers sewing machine since he past away 1 yr ago (He used for mending).
I am a basic Knitter, can do easy patterns but not Fair Isle. I just spent a school term teaching 12 year olds to knit squares to make into blankets for homeless people.
Some of the boys were very quick to learn and very productive.

I knit myself a sweater this winter for the first time in a while. I like knitting, hate crochet and don't much enjoy sewing, although I used to a fair amount.
Since knitting doesn't seem to be too fashionable, it's extremely hard to find nice patterns and wool, at least here in France. To make my sweater, I ended up using a really old pattern for the number of stitches and armholes and invented the rest.

This winter I lost a scarf that my grandmother had knitted for me about 25 years ago. I decided not to be crushed, because I got 25 years use out of it and now it has moved on to a new owner. I just hope that the new person appreciates it as much as I did.

bjd! Knitting is back in fashion big time here.
I have joined the local Stitch n' Bitch and it is full of young men and women eager to learn. Obviously, I cannot show them as my technique is about as different from the standard english knitting as can be.
I hope you soon see a peak of interest where you live.

I used to knit cardies for my babies....but not since. I used to be good at it.
I cannot abide sewing. But I like embroidery and tapestry.

I know how to do needlepoint. My beloved grandmother taught my brother and me how to do it when we spent a long cold winter in Lorraine before the invention of things like interesting TV channels, video games, top 40 radio stations and other teenage necessities.
I liked it, and my brother liked it even more. He has kept his needlepoint work over the years and proudly shows it to anybody who expresses interest.

I had to knit a lot at school and hated it back then. I think I would still hate it actually.

I like to sew, have a wonderful old Singer(not a treadle). Haven't pulled it out in awhile but may soon as I need to make some curtains. I love hand sewing, mending type stuff. Tried crewel and embroidery but am too much of a perfectionist and could see every flaw.Wouldn't mind learning how to knit.

I found this site accidentally. Don't know if the prices are reasonable or not, but the stuff sure is nice. Also, as far as I can figure this woman lives on a sailboat and figured out a way to make money while she travels. Good for her! www.liannoriginals.com/

I drink the odd Old Fashioned... Ha Ha imec, when I saw the subject line the drink was my first thought. Here in WI we make them with brandy. I don't sew, knit or any of that. I sort of tried to learn once, but I wasn't any good. I have lots of blankets (afghans we call them) from both my grandmothers. Growing up we had many hats, mittens, scarves etc. My mother-in-law knits. Funny story about that, when hubby and I first told her we were pregnant she said nothing and got up and walked out of the room. We were kind of nervous about that. Finally she came back in with a pile of little sweaters she had knitted and said, "It's about bloody time, you two!"

No, I don't knit and drive.
However, when I used to live in northern NM and drove my Volvo 122S to Missouri over the kind of straight flat miles of KS where you raise your fingers from the steering wheel in greeting when you encounter the occasional other car, I would sometimes play my mandolin. The 122S was a very easy car to drive with your knees.

Flunked homemaking in Junior High School (They call it middle school now). Do know how to knit, can't stand it, but I like needlepoint. I even hooked a rug once. Guess you could call me a hooker???

I'll trade you my memoirs for yours, if we ever get a few chapters done. There might be a few things I'd rather not flaunt. Of course, T63 just admitted to being a hooker.
