I agree, they do seem familiar, it could be any street in any number of countries.
Such a cosy looking place, hwinpp. I like the colors and the front veranda. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Hwnn, I love the colours of your home! It suggests beautiful waters. This does seem exotic to me, I have never travelled to Asia. The gates of the street are interesting and would probably make a great photo essay of their own.

"I don't know about standard of living and Mexico being richer. The chasm between how the better-off and the poor live is so deep and wide, I can't imagine how a mean is determined."
Sounds exactly like here.
D& J, the pics are a bit blueish because I took them in the evening. Actually the colour of the house (the top half) is turquoiseish.
A post on the gates would be interesting but I doubt anybody would allow me to photograph them, they'd think I'm planning a break- in!

That's so funny, hwinpp ;D I often wonder what people must make of me taking pictures of everyday things, things that they probably don't see anything special in, (having lived here forever), but that I still find fascinating. Okay, so I've been busy doing some more painting. Didn't get much done today, but I thought I'd post my handiwork on here for you all to see, (and admire ;D). Mahogany finish: And Angels dog house (which I've seen her use twice only)

I have an 'ordinary thing' post coming up soon, which got me plenty of weird stares from passersby. "Why on earth is he taking a picture of that?"

Sometimes, the most ordinary things can be the most interesting, K.

Wow -- we all seem to be on the same page. I was going to propose something like a "my stuff" thread, where we could just post pictures of things we like, things we broke and don't know how to fix, whatever occurred to us. Is that too vague and stupid?

I think people's "regular stuff" is quite interesting. Like for instance, what does a 63 year old woman doing with a Teddy Bear collection? Oops, this probably should be in the Collection thread! But the point is, is it is ordinary to me.

We could probably make a really big psychiatric branch.

You are right. Note that I came to my senses, for the time being at least.
Really, instead of random pictures, it would be so great if there were more emphasis and effort put into complete photo essays. They're more work to put together, but it's fun to learn stuff plus it builds up a body of excellent, entertaining, and informational threads here.
