Excellent! And we don't even have to ask if you were driving when you took it.

Traffic WAS stopped and I couldn't wait to get past that thing. They were actually using it to hoist a heavy piece of concrete into place.

Places like that always make you wonder about big trucks encountering each other.

Thankfully no trucks on this mountain road. Parts of it were very narrow with a steep gorge on one side and a rock on the other side. At this point there was a 'give way on oncoming traffic' sign.

Yes, I know those signs very well on narrow bridges and other such places.

I loved this photo by htmb as while the young couple are thinking they were the first people in human history to have loved as much as they do, there is an older couple walking arm in arm in the other direction. Reply #277 posted Jul 22, 2015 at 7:09pm

Good grief! Where the heck is that, Amboseli?
That first photo is fabulous. What a scene!

I have been on so many of those roads. Bixa should not be so surprised because I know that she saw similar roads a few years ago on Mont Ventoux although with cyclists rather than hikers.
I don't really enjoy all of the switchbacks when I am driving a Fiat 500 in such places.

Fabulous pics Amboseli - particularly enjoyed the first one. Whereabouts is the location of the pic you posted 3/5 ?

Bixa should not be so surprised Ack-shully, Mont Ventoux is the first thing I thought of when I saw that picture. The fact that I was actually on Mont Ventoux did not make me blasé about such roads.
