Well said, K2! (And the power is out, too!) Reprising the end of page post. Spring in Montana. Monday was gorgeous, Tuesday was rainy and last night it snowed 6 inches. Heavy wet snow. All the newly leafed out trees are losing branches or falling over. I woke to a boom! this morning - a 60-foot tall Ponderosa pine had broken off about 12 feet off the ground, and crashed to the ground. All the native shrubs are bent to the ground, and the taller ones have lost many branches. What a mess. We'll be hauling and burning for weeks...

Yesterday at noon it was 27C, by 10:00 p.m. it was 7C! and 4 hours north of us it was snowing, a bizarre spring. Today there is beautiful sunshine and is about 12C.

Heading toward a temporary heat wave but still not too bad, although we are heading towards 30° in a couple of days.

A week ago we had 12° and rain all day on Thursday after a couple of days of heat. Yesterday it was 31°. Today it's 29° and sunny, but the wind has risen so it feels slightly better. It is supposed to stay hot until Monday, then some thunderstorms are forecast.

I'm temporarily in Rennes which turned out to be the hottest city in France at sunset yesterday. The cities of Brittany are breaking all of their temperature records for May the moment.

Allegedly the hottest Ascension weekend on record. And Bretons are not used to a lot of hot weather. A look at the forecast showed me that the rain/storms have been postponed a couple of days. 20° at 7 am today.

Just returned to Paris at 7pm and it is currently 32°. Had to furiously water my plants which I only abandoned 2 days ago. I hope they forgive me.

In my state we had a very mild summer (for us)and enough light rain to keep things growing. Autumn has been a long gentle season, we are getting day times temps around 14C-22C. For the first time in many years the European deciduous trees have had time to change colour and give us a wonderful display. Usually the crispy leaves of summer get blown off the trees in our first storm of winter, skipping autumn altogether.

beautiful weather on our trip, as most of the rocks in the area are surrounded by forest (and aren't that tall/are at the side of hills, so there is forest above, too) it was shady, so that was good ... now home, and a bit too warm for work, otherwise nice ...

Cool, cloudy with some rain showers. The black flies and mosquitoes are the worst I have seen in quite a few years. Went for my first ride in the boat yesterday and stopped in at friends and only stayed about 5 minutes as the bug swarms were unbearable. We need a week of hot temperatures to be rid of them.

After a glorious month of May, in the last two days it turned hot, Everyone on the block are blasting their AC's . We have yet to succumb. I carry a long sleeved shirt or shawl or rebozo with me when we go out to a restaurant or the like because of the over ACing. Were it not for the humidity it would be more tolerable, Temps of 85 feel like 95F. And, the mosquitoes are just horrible.
