Kimby we both have had a snow filled winter! We did have freezing rain/snow pellets on the weekend but we are back to cold temperatures, -15C here as well!
Kerouac, tremendously jealous of the weather in Paris!
We are in the process of deciding on moving our holiday from September to April or May. Not sure on the destination as of yet, I guess it will depend on what reasonably priced flights are available. It looks like Vienna (with a driving route taking in Slovakia and Slovenia) at the moment as Air Canada is having an offer on flights there.

Apparently today will be the last one of the early spring days. Rain is predicted as of tomorrow for the coming weeks. EEK! So sorry for the children who have spring half-term next week.

It really is 20° (felt warmer of course, since we are not used to it). Rain tomorrow in Paris, too, and obviously cooler, but still not "February."

24°C in the shade here in southwestern France at 5pm. No wind today. It feels like early summer. Actually, it's perfect weather, but in my mind it's still winter, so it feels wrong. The rain originally forecast for tomorrow has been postponed to Monday.

One of the COLDEST Mardi Gras I can remember. Awakened to 35F. It is supposed to get up to 54F. Gratefully, the sun is out.

Meteorology not being an exact science, the forecast rainy day is in fact 18°C (in the shade) and sunny. In other words, another beautiful day.

We had a stormy Sunday night here, lots of damage to the trees on the park. Yesterday and today it's been sunny but with a stiff cold breeze.

You kNOW it’s been a brutal cold spell when the ACTUAL lows of -15.5F and -13F (-25C) sound mild! My min-max hit -27.4F (-33C) a couple nights ago!
Sunny days get up to about 20F (-7C), eventually....

Whacky weather continues on here.
As noted, Mardi Gras morning was in the 30F's but sunny and it warmed up quite a bit as the day went on.
Wednesday and Thursday it was back up into the 60F's.
We dodged the horrific deadly tornadoes that struck Alabama and Georgia.
Today it is in the mid 70F's, balmy and very cloudy with a hint of rain in the air.
Tomorrow's forecast is rather ominous with high winds and possible tornado like conditions for our area.

I have high winds too, enough to bring trees down. I have done some outside work because it’s sunny bu the wind had exhausted me and I’ve come in.

Today on the northern coast of France, I was frozen, pushed around by brutal winds and sandblasted. It was wonderful, even though it didn't rain.

I survived the gales of northern France this morning but the motorway back to Paris was littered with branches.

Gusts of wind of 120 km/hr in our area. A lot of trees uprooted, solar panels & roofs blown off, ... We were urgently requested to stay inside, for our own safety and to stay out of the way of the the emergency services.

Just got home from a 4 day reunion with old friends. We stayed in Kings Cross right bang in the heart of Sydney's old historic area. We travelled around by ferries criss-crossing the Harbour. Weather was glorious, rich blue sky and water with some fluffy clouds to hold it at 27C.with soft breezes for the yachts and board riders.
Flight home (2 hours) was very turbulent as we thumped and bucked through a Low pressure cell. The landing was a 'go around and line it up again' experience and the touchdown was a rapid drop of about 4 metres onto the runway with a bang and a few muffled shrieks and expletives from the passengers. I winked at the attendant and asked if the pilot was practising air craft carrier landings, she replied with a grin, "STOL practice" (Short Take-off and Landing).
Glad to be home where we are still having hot days.

I was certainly right to leave Calais as soon as possible, because the weather was as described by amboseli all day. I think some people were even killed by falling trees.

We had some wind yesterday, but nothing out of the ordinary. A bit of drizzle on and off too. Right now the sun is coming out and it should be a pleasant enough spring day.

I get quite anxious when the winds get strong.
Well it feels like this winter is never going to end. An additional 5 cm of snow today on top of THE deepest snow depth in our memories. My husband had to go out and clear the snow off the satellite dish yesterday (lost the signal due to the wet snow built on it) and when he made his way across to it he was sinking into the snow almost up to his hips! When he finally got over to the dish, he just had to reach over and brush it off, no reaching up to it! The melt is supposed to begin next week as the temperatures are to be above zero and there are sunny conditions expected.
