After near drought conditions here we were inundated with 4 inches of rain yesterday accompanied by fierce thunder and lightning. More to follow today. The critters are not happy at all.
I had just drained the pond on Wednesday and now with all the rain it is filling back up so I will likely have to get back in there and bail it out again.
I would gladly leave the rain water in there but I had not finished cleaning out all the leaves and other crap at the bottom. GRRRRRR!!!
The temperatures are very pleasant however. 70F's.

Very cold here today, and we've had some sleety rain. I've been hiding in the greenhouse all afternoon.

It's 18° in Paris which isn't bad. It may even have been up to 20° a few hours ago. And yet it is all a bit disappointing because the sunshine is week. That didn't stop lots of younger males from wearing shorts today, but that's more of a dare than a pleasure.
Nevertheless, northern France is much warmer than southern France at the moment, and that always pleases us for some reason.

Nevertheless, northern France is much warmer than southern France at the moment, and that always pleases us for some reason. I understand this. During the spring we feel a bit special if our temperature gets above those in the Toronto area. Rarely in the summer would we have higher temperatures than them but that is okay, too hot there some days. We have been noticing that Timmins, 4 hours north of us, has had many warmer days than us is the past few summers. 9C today! Cloudy. The slow melt continues.

We had a few hours of heavy soaking rain last night. The dogs and I scampered home through the first bit of it, but managed to get back while still fairly dry. It was so wonderful to get up to a fresh clean sparkling world this morning, with the plants in my patio practically singing hymns of joy.

The weather in Paris was "okay" but I wanted to know how the weather might be on Saturday, so I looked it up. I would have loved to return to the Berck kite festival which is in progress. The weather site said it would be 8° there so I decided to check again next year.

WTF, it’s snowing again! March was supposed to go out like a lamb, and April should have stayed warm and fuzzy, too. I have little patience for winter, once ski season ends!

And just to underline climate change, the northern coast is having drought restrictions, which is something that has never before happened in April.

We got more rain yesterday evening. It also got rather cool, which is sort of a shock after days of excess heat.

Very chilly morning but the sun came out this afternoon and it was toasty warm inside my little greenhouse (23°). It's supposed to be 0° tonight and only up to around 9 -10° the rest of the week.

About to leave a cafe this morning when the waiter announced that it was snowing! So hung on till it eased a bit and went for my bus, it turned to hail, then snow and then heavy rain. By the time the bus had reached home, about 20 minutes, the sky was beginning to show some blue. We have been through a cold spell with temps not breaking 50F, but the forecast is for better times next week.

We have been down to 1° or 2° at night but with sunny days that bring the temperature up to around 11° or 12°. That's still not enough, but they are promising us a balmy Easter, and it might even get back up to 20° or more.

We've had a couple of mild days with 15°c, but today was much cooler, thout thoroughly cyclable (yeee) Heavy rain now through the night but that will clean up some of the filth in the streets.
