thanks, bixa. Lichens are everywhere. I'm hoping others will keep an eye open for them.

Wow! I missed that one, K2. If that's a roof, I wonder if it still keeps water out.

Anyone for a mushroom? Wonder if they would be edible - if so I also wonder about the rhino dung flavour ;D

nice, cheery! Lichens AND moss! Here's two from x-country skiing near Glacier National Park: Two different species of lichen on two different species of trees in two different habitats, but both in the same ski trail system.

I planted this rock in our garden years ago. The moss planted itself.

Being fairly new still ...... I am looking at and reading lots of posts / threads for the first time.
Image bank is my "guilty pleasure." ( as in reading/ enjoying the images when I really should be doing mundane /other stuff ;D)
There are so many fantastic photographs in Image Bank but so far this group is my favourite collection . To me , every single one is fantastic. Thanks all.

I think all of us have improved from our early photos, lugg. Now that we have all of these subjects in mind, it helps us to focus on what sort of photo to take depending on what we are looking at. But of course a lot of the photos are also total accidents and it is only once we see them that we think "oh, that would be a perfect photo for...."

Lugg - super photos! I am fascinated by your photo of Pixie Cup lichen Casimira, how strange to see a toadstool 'peeling'!

Casimira - Was that unusual photo of an upside down mushroom(?) taken in the garden or a frying pan? The specks look like pepper and the green snips like chive - wonderful photo!
