Yes, a merry Christmas to all and a extra shout out to Lagatta and Bixa. Have I missed something? Have they been kidnapped? Shanghaied? Now I’m worried... Hope everyone has had or is having a happy christmas, or whatever you celebrate.

I reckon our angel (Bixaiel) got caught up in the mob of other angels that were doing a gig near old Hezekiah's sheep shed. They are a noisy lot, them angels. Do you reckon anyone would notice if we snuck off and had a look at what is going on? Yeah and tell that angel to rest up for a bit till she feels her wings start to itch. That's a sign her friends want her home again. At least she has some light for her trip...lookit that star!

I'm always amazed at the range of your knowledge, Questa, but your clever use of the Old Testament is a fresh revelation. Thank you, and hope your holidays have been merry and bright.

I was surprised the shepherds spoke in Oz bush drawl. I thought they would chat in King James Bible English, but verily I say unto you, the Angels themselves find such circumlocutions abominations before all Mankind.
So we got stuck with Cec, Syd and Johnno's little brother.... Oi Vey!

That's really something, Mick. I think you may have said somewhere on here already, but her company makes more than just ladies' handbags, right?

Today I've sent flowers to my bone marrow recipient's family. Realised that it's the 25th anniversary so thought I'd surprise Fiona's Mummy with nice bunch of flowers...they send me a huge bunch every year so it's nice to give back. I don't know her phone number so I just have to hope that she will be at home to receive them.

We appreciate the hours that you and Bixa put into Anyport Kerouac. Must be difficult You are such a lovely person, Cheery. It is an honour to know you. Hear hear. My daughter’s company sold £40k of handbags on Xmas day online. I have just had a look at the website Mick - they do look very nice indeed. I wonder if males were the main buyers on Xmas Day ? Mmmmm… I love oven baked marrow. Sounds the perfect antidote to X-mas richness.

Went to one of my gardening jobs this morning. First thing I had to do was bury a long dead fox. Not pleasant.

I had to do something similar recently Mick although it wasn't a fox.
I was cat sitting for a dear neighbor and she had a very old cat that she had taken in well over a dozen years ago.
She knew that the cat "Miz Wiggles" was on her way out and hated the thought of leaving me with the possibility of dealing with the situation should she die while gone.
We discussed where she would like for her to be buried beforehand.
Miz Wiggles indeed did pass, gratefully in a painless and peaceful manner and most of all in a place where I didn't have to crawl underneath houses to find. My husband and I buried her in the designated spot and I placed a lovely large river rock which I then planted some flowers around.
I was also grateful that it happened while my friend was away because she had gone to Alabama to bury her mother and the thought of her having to come home to a dead cat to have to bury was just much too much to handle emotionally.

Mine wasn’t so considerate and picked a spot that I couldn’t reach and had to do a lot of severe hacking back to recover.

Casimira, Miz Wiggles and her human were both very lucky to have you around for the inevitable transition. What a lovely thing you did!
Mick, your story may not be as pretty, but knowing of what you call your gardening jobs, it was certainly equally kind.

I was not able to bury my last dead mouse, since it seems to have died under the floor boards. I had one week of mild stink, a week of respite and then two weeks of flies. And then things went back to normal.

PM Boris Johnson increased minimum wage by 6.2% in the UK. That is quite impressive in a country with low inflation. In France, the increase is just 1.2%, pretty much the strict minimum.

Hehe cherry. Just opened an old rum. And wishing you all a good health for 2020. My wishes for my colleagues was that they don't change and keep the good relationship so that I can both have fun and so a good job and to my friend that they do t change and keep bringing me smiles and love. Family is different. They will get and give live even when I or they don't deserve it. That is what family is : people you can hurt but you can return to when in trouble knowing they will open their arms. They may be a price to pay later but everyone knows it will be ok to be paid. I really like this forum. You all look like very good people. Some are as stubborn and can be a pain as much as I can be but I can't imagine any of you not being a good person. May you have a great 2020 year. I remember looking at 2000 like it was so futuristic. Let us go to 3000

Whatagain that is a very nice thing to say, I feel like I've made some honest to goodness friends on this forum. I'm nowhere near as well travelled nor as intellectual as most (if not all) of you (NOT fishing, it's a fact)...and you continue to amaze me with your adventures and your knowledge. We made some serious inroads on my Dad's whisky last night!, finally got to bed when the fireworks stopped at around 0200...bounced out of bed at 0700. On reflection, one of the nicest things about being a pensioner is that I can take a nap if i want to.
