Those shrimp and ham cakes remind me of shrimp cocktails, and when I saw the stuff below I thought what a wonderful curry... ;D

A giant burger which is cut into slices like a pizza and contains a whopping 2,500 calories has gone on sale in New York. The nine-and-a-half-inch Burger King 'Pizza Burger' is the same size as four of their normal Whoppers and comes topped with pepperoni and mozzarella. It also contains 144g of fat - 59g of which is saturated - and has double the recommended daily allowance of salt. While bosses insist the gargantuan burger is designed for sharing, there are sure to be plenty of people who try to munch their way through it on their own… this is America after all. A spokesperson for Burger King said the NY Pizza Burger would only be going on sale in their new WHOPPER Bar New York City for a short period of time.

It's funny to see that when McDonald's is opening new outlets in France that don't sell any burgers at all.

I rarely come into this thread, now I know why. God,that looks so dreadful. I never eat at these places...I just couldn't stomach even seeing something like that. I guess they do their marketing homework though, before introducing these things for ugh,consumption...

I came here to try to kill my appetite! The onset of winter has precipitated an onset of hyperphagia in me. (That's what they call the feeding frenzy that bears undergo at the end of summer, preparing to hibernate.)

The Ark Burger From Vaz’s Takeaway in Sydney Australia. Inside this awesome burger: a double beef patty, BBQ Roast Chicken, Scotch fillet steak, Chicken schnitzel, double bacon, and double cheese. (I can tell that this is authentic from the slice of beetroot in the sandwich.)

The Tesco lasagna packaging has all the charm of an ant farm full of dead ants. WHAT is that in the upper right of the ark burger?!

I believe it's a gloved thumb, holding the towering "sandwich" from falling over!

Francisco Domingo Joaquim is the record holder for the world's biggest mouth.

He could manage 2 of those....
On the cover of the Rolling Stones Exile on Main street is an old picture of a guy with 3 billard balls in his mouth. Bet he could manage it too.

The article that I read about the current record holder claims that he can hold a soda can in his closed mouth.

Not food but a drink.
Yesterday again had a peek at the minibar, saw something called Pocari Sweat and gulped it down without reading. Disgusting, uncarbonated candy water.

Well, if you go around drinking pecari sweat, don't be surprised it's disgusting

"Pokari Sweat" always appears on the websites poking fun at strange foreign product names, but hwinpp is the first person I know who has actually consumed it.

Hee hee, Bjd!
I believe the "sweat" in the title is to indicate that it's a "sports drink", similar to Gatorade.

But cold Gatorade is ok.
This was not very good. Will post the pic tomorrow...

Abominations from the high end caterer Le Nôtre. A lot of these individual microwave dishes were 15-18€. I would make a meal of a baguette for 0.80€ before I would pay such a price.

Even Woolworths Food shops leave me cold when it comes to their ready meals. As soon as I slide the cardboard cover over and see the contents are NOTHING like the picture on the outside cover, I put it straight back on the shelf Your photo of Le Notre's offerings do look better but even if I was totally desperate to serve a 'ready meal' the price I agree is not even an option.

With cooler weather coming on for a lot of us, it is time to get some hearty, stick-to-the-ribs meals. Heart-a-Mac & Cheese A layer of mac and cheese on the bottom, then chicken, another layer of mac, then beef, sun dried tomatoes, and bacon, with another layer of mac, and lastly a layer of mac and cheese with beef sprinkled on top and some parmesan cheese on top. Grease Lightning A layer of seasoned curly fries topped with chicken nuggets, chicken fried steak, fish sticks, pizza rolls, and a slice of corndog then smothered in melted mozzarella cheese topped with a mixture of chili, bacon, and sliced hot dogs topped with a sprinkling of cheddar.

The Philly Taco: Philly Cheesesteak wrapped in a wedge of pizza. (I admit; not too abominable. Definitely an excess of carbs) More on this here: tinyurl.com/PhillyTaco
