Re: Replies #298 & 299 ~~
Casimira, "foul odors"? From what?
Kerouac, do you anticipate a world-wide glut of air traffic from all the people who'll have to re-schedule their flights?

I took photos in a bluebell wood this afternoon. The scent was divine.

I don't think it's Mother's Day here yet. We always know when it is because we get lots of advertising for appliances , jewellery and stuff like that.

Plan to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge this Friday. Did it years ago with my husband and it was a pretty amazing thing. I have wanted to repeat the experience and decided I would do it this trip. Hope to take lots of pics.

I think that something may actually materialize regarding the "Operation BEE" project...that I have been talking about for how long now? ? They are safely ensconced behind a glass wall in a house downtown,am going down there tonight to assess. Really,I am.

HA!
First to remember this Friday! Nothing much planned after my binge yesterday.
Do you also need more time to get back in shape after you've been out longer than you should have been?

Am so backed up on stuff in my garden that I have to get out and weed, weed, weed. It has rained every day this week at some point, our usual pattern for this time of year. Laying low here, hanging around the fort. Metro Butterfly Count this Sunday here in the city so,will be out and about with those folks scouting out caterpillars and the like.

This week seemed to go by fast! Lots and lots to do here this weekend, mostly stuff to do before leaving town. The garden is a jungle from all the monsoon like rains we've been having and needs continued taming. An invite to a dinner party for Saturday night which we will surely attend. I'm forgetting something else here that I am scheduled to do... Probably, watch the soccer match between U.S. and U.K. tomorrow.

Later this afternoon I'm going to see a movie called Vincere. Apparently, Mussolini had a marriage and son and denied both when he rose to power.

I will be watching the World Cup opening ceremony and the match between SA and Mexico this afternoon, not that I know the first thing about soccer. Tomorrow some new furniture will be arriving for my spare room so I will spend a lot of the weekend decorating and re-arranging furniture.

Guess I'll have to be cheering against you, Palesa, not that I know anything about futbol either. Actually, a part of me wants to see South Africa get the glory.
One of the reasons I like where I live is because it's fairly unpopulated, so very quiet. However, it would be fun to be in town today. When I lived in town, on the days of big matches for Mexico, it would be almost completely silent outside, with hardly any traffic. Then suddenly there would be the sound of massed male voices coming from various living rooms and businesses, all raised in a loud joyous GOOOOOOOOOOALLLLL

Hanging around home going through all the pictures I ever took for a scrapbook album my sisters and I are putting together for our parents' 65th wedding anniversary. Boy does that put one in a nostalgic mood...
Strangest coincidence, too. Having just seen lots of pics of my old college boyfriend who I hadn't been in touch with for 30 years, he called out of the blue! We had a nice visit, once I got over how strange it was to be talking to him. He's grown up a lot in 30 years.

Oh my goodness, Kimby ~~ that is really something! How very odd that he'd call right at that time. Do you know what prompted him to get in touch?
Are you all doing a big splash for the anniversary, or something more intimate?
