If what I read about the demographic breaks on Brexit in the UK are correct, relatively few people our age and older are greatly apprehensive about Brexit. It's largely the younger voters who fear its likely effects on their country. Younger voters were also in the majority for Remain in the Brexit vote.

This could just as easily fitted in the "serious" thread.

Yes, funny but not only. Was "You're so vain" referencing Warren Beatty or Mick Jagger?

I always thought it was Warren Beatty.

Such a good quote:
Republican strategist Terry Sullivan, who previously led Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign, predicted Trump’s defeat.
“It’s over,” Sullivan said. “The only good news is that in 30 days Trump will be back to being just a former reality TV star like the Kardashians, and Republican candidates across America will no longer be asked to respond to his stupid remarks.”

It will be interesting to see some of the red states turn blue for the first time in many years.

Looking at the video showing photos of Trump in his younger years, I can say without a doubt that he has not weathered well. Some good looking men become just as good looking in their latter years but not Donald. On the other hand - Hillary is still as stunning as she ever was. I love her hair style as it befits a woman of her age. I never have to cringe when she speaks ( unlike Trumps utterances), and good for her if she intimidated and rode roughshod over the victims of her husbands infidelities. She's the Boss, no doubt about it.

Yes, I was actually surprised to see how attractive Trump had been as a young man, and even in early middle age. And no, it isn't just because he put on some weight. He looks quite ghastly for a person with that much money. He'd look much mroe "presidential" without the combover - 70-year-old men are allowed a receding hairline.

Good looking???!! Here's a fun fact: NO ONE whose mouth resembles an advanced prolapsed rectum is good looking, ever.

Have you seen the photos of him as a much younger man? He seemed to have a normal mouth. Obviously not my kind anyway, any more than I'd be his.

{Donald Trump} responded to a Muslim woman's question about Islamophobia by saying that "we have to be sure that Muslims come in and report when they see something going on. When they see hatred going on, they have to report it."
That -- and Trump's unusual posture, standing closely behind Clinton as she responded to some questions -- led to this tweet from New York-area college professor Moustafa Bayoumi going viral: "I'm a Muslim, and I would like to report a crazy man threatening a woman on a stage in Missouri."

Yes, just perfect.
Bixa, I was referring ONLY to Trump's physical degeneration. He was just as evil as a younger man; I believe I posted the story of him refusing rental in one of his new apartment blocks to a young nurse of African-American origin, and it was just one among many examples of racist refusals of solvent prospective tenants.

The BBC has a headline today - "Trump 'groped woman like an octopus'" I don't think calling a woman an octopus is very nice at all.

It looks as if it's all over except for the shouting-match: electiongraphs.com/2016ec/Remember, the popular votes do not count, only the electoral college votes do. Even if Trump claims the election is rigged, nothing he did 20-30 years ago or even just last week which was seen worldwide on videotape matters anymore and Hillary is on "performance-enhancing drugs". I'm getting a kick out of all these religious right folks who go into long, rapturous discourses which are completely off the subject but usually include references to Jesus when faced with phrases like, "Do you believe what you heard Mr Trump personally say on these videotapes?" and "How are you sure that Donald Trump is not the same man he was 20 years ago?" I'm thinking either payola is involved, or some serious charitable donations to their congregations.

I'm thinking either payola is involved, or some serious charitable donations to their congregations. I don't think one should quite rule out the possibility of self-delusion. But it takes a stretch of the imagination to see DT as Mary Magdalene. My blog | My photos | My video clips"too literate to be spam"

Oh my goodness! All I can say is while the world focuses on America the South African nation is facing a dangerous man who is OUR president at the moment. Get them elected and boy oh boy will you find out how really corrupt they really are. DT denies knowing "these women" - well he was probably drunk at the time - maybe on that "special" injection called Testosterone? One thing that the news channels report which I cannot agree with is that "he would be extremely dangerous should he ever be given the 'code' to launch a nuclear weapon". I have always believed that a nuclear weapon can only be launched by a group of selected individuals who all have part of the launch code key. How stupid it would be to let ONE man do the dirty!

I was under the impression that the 'red phone' was to gain instant communication between the Presidents of USA and USSR/Russia to try to avert the nuclear strike from either side. The order to push the button(s) was to be given by the President, but the actual launch needed rapid involvement of various people contributing their parts of the code. Strange how "Dr Strangelove" gets remembered about this time.

Donald Trump swears that he does not drink alcohol, smoke or take drugs. He drinks only Diet Coke and eats "only fast food, because you know what's in it and it's always the same." But it's apparent that whoever is writing his speeches is on crystal meth.
