Even if I am not a big fan of the song itself, this video warms my heart.

One of the best things about this song is that you can find special versions for just about every major city in the world.

I loved the performance by Ibrahim Maalouf at the Victoires de la Musique (French Grammy equivalents) this year.

That really is a beautiful piece Kerouac...I love the build when all the other musicians join him on stage. Thank you darling boy. X

I am soooo glad that I'm not the only one! I think that as I get older I often have an emotional response to music, performance, speeches etc. A few years ago I was watching one of those massive charity concerts on tv, there were lots of excellent rock bands playing and thousands of young (and not so young) people bopping along happily...then a ballet company performed a short piece on the stage with an orchestral accompaniment. I was completely overwhelmed with the roar of approval from the crowd when they finished.
(Kerouac dear I was also worrying in the night that I had been over-familiar in my previous post. I had had a large glass of whisky before I posted so my naturally-occurring English reserve was muffled.).

Don't worry, Cheery, I have recovered from my shock.

This song has always made me feel good, from the first day it was released. I think it has something to do with the horns and the triangle.

There are very few groups that can stop me in my tracks to listen to the song, but Coldplay is one of them.

We walked up to hear The Sidemen last night, playing for tips at local Latin American restaurant, and they did a nice instrumental version of Body and Soul. A scanty crowd to hear excellent music by sax/clarinet, piano, drums, and standup bass.

My daughter Hannah, 22, has discovered Roy Orbison for dancing to around the house. I'm able to point her towards some of his gems.
Okay well, let me throw this one in, too. I missed the Traveling Wilburys at the time, but here's a fun one with posthumous Orbison and some other pretty faces:

Yes, I loved that country-rock tune and the video. A great part of it is that they aren't pretending to be young.

I continue to prefer Mika's French career to his British one. His French music is much more playful.

I love Mike Oldfield's lead guitar in this catchy song - played on full volume ( of course)!
