That Huerniopsis decipiens definitely looks as though it evolved to adapt to a particular environment.
Have you had to move any plants or otherwise protect them? Cheery mentioned in another thread about getting her nose burnt when she took a fairly short walk. Here, when I notice that the sun is burning into my back when I'm just standing in one spot for a few minutes is a wake-up call that all the plants are feeling the same thing.

Not much I can do with them. They’ve had to take their chance.

Good thing that it's not a carnivorous plant that snaps shut on your hand if you get close.

The second one is wonderful, as are all that genus, but I'm blown away by the Obregonia. For one thing, it's perfect. For another, doesn't it have to be quite old to be so big & in flower?

But does that mean that it's going to complain about the size of the container soon or will it just stop getting any bigger?

Cor...they look good.
My caci are on holiday in the garden. One of them seems to have some 'bleaching' on the plant body....is it fatal?

Probably sunburn. More disfiguring than fatal.

Bit of a story about the Caralluma ( now Monolluma). I grew it from seed but it should have been something else altogether. For some time I had no idea what it was and it put out buds last year but they didn’t develop. It was only this year that it flowered and I was able to find what it was. Very pleased because it’s not common.
