Ever have anything mysteriously disappear, poof, gone? No logical explanation for, searched everywhere, never to reappear again. Now,I have lost things naturally, but there have been times when things have mysteriously disappeared with no logical explanation for. It happens every few years and recently happened again.

Have you ever read The Borrowers, by Mary Norton? There are wee folk living underneath the floorboards or some such place, and they need that object for furniture or to beautify the home.

Well, this particular object is my new prescription eyeglasses, they vanished the day before I was leaving on holiday. Maybe they didn't want for me to leave them alone with Mr. C..Personally,I think it was my cat Sadie, she always freaks right before I leave on an extended trip and stays away (except to come back to eat) until I return. But,she won't tell.

The gremlins hid all of my Thai cash that I was looking for before I went to Bangkok. I managed to find one 20 baht note and nothing else while I was certain that plenty more was hidden away.
I have returned with a 500 baht note and I am keeping an eye on it. (Great, that is not even 10 euros.)

I blame the Underpants Knomes from South Park!

I bought a new MP3 player when I was in New York in January and I set it aside when I returned home. It still has not chosen to show its hiding place after 10 months (okay, I have not ransacked the apartment looking for it either).

I had a Jabbra Bluetooth headset that did a disappearing act a few years ago. Got in to car in Edinburgh with the headset... got out of car and unpacked and headset was gone. Never did find it.

I always thought that it would be sheer brilliance for one of these washer/dryer manufacturers to advertise their machines as guaranteed to not eat or whatever one's socks. Why has no one has come up with this? Maybe they have and I missed it.

Socks really do slip out the drain from time to time. I do not know what combination of circumstances gets them past the barrier to allow them a free life in the sewers.
There have probably been inventors working for years on big mesh bags into which you could imprison the socks before placing them in the washing machine, but I bet the socks have found a way out of those, too.

It still has not chosen to show its hiding place after 10 months (okay, I have not ransacked the apartment looking for it either). I guess the MP3 player just needed to be mentioned to show that it was missed, because it suddenly appeared yesterday although, wow, much smaller than I remembered. Maybe it hasn't been eating properly.

Another mystery is the way faulty machinery can be made to work merely by opening the cover, looking inside and closing it up again. It just wants the attention.

I think 'they' have taken my woolen bonnet. What was that on your nephew's head? Yes Patrick, my car (a little '69 VW bug) is a shining example of this attention seeking tempermentalism. So,I go along along and indulge her.

Oh, those young people wear everything except saucepans on their heads, and that's probably next. He had at least 3 different pieces of headgear, in addition to the hoods, and maybe even more are hidden in his luggage.
I really never thought of lawyers looking like that.

Never mind just opening the lid. Some of them just want to be unplugged for a second. All IT helpdesks know this which is why their first question is always “Have you tried turning it on and off?”.

Here's a simple one for when the computer is being balky:
Click on the little double monitor icon in the bottom right of your screen. Click on Support, then on Repair.
I think this is something else that makes the computer feel noticed and loved, so it will stop sulking.
