Metz embeds different metal bits into its paving stone.

That's not your town though. I'm the same distance from Metz as you are. Except not today, because I am in Metz.

Well, this thread was originally titled "pictures from your hometown" but that proved pretty much impossible. Friday in Metz, but not really unexpected.

Victor Hugo sits quite often in front of the town hall of Waterloo. victor finished writing his most famous books ‘les misérables’ in a hotel 200 meters from the battlefield. he also wrote the very famous poem ‘Waterloo, Waterloo morne plaine’ about the battle.

I'm sure you saw it on the news, but here's my version. The Moulin Rouge lost its moulin last night.

Supposedly they check it once a week, yet the blades just fell off. Sounds a bit suspicious to me.

I saw that in one report and then I saw the manager on television saying that there is a security verification every two months. I suspect that the "check it every week" is just to replace burnt out lightbulbs and stuff. Two months might be to grease the moving parts. The problem would seem to be something to do with either the nuts and bolts or metal fatigue of a key part that just broke. Sounds like a job for Boeing.
