Very warm here today, close to 30C. It was our first test of the air conditioning since we had the servicerman come. Happy to report it is working perfectly!

They keep promising scattered showers, but they do not seem to be scattering anywhere around here, except for maybe 5 minutes in the Mouzaïa yesterday. There's still a bit of hope for tomorrow, and then all of France is supposed to fry, not just bjd's area.

We have been experiencing very intensely hot weather here, upper 90F's. And, no rain for easily 2 weeks. My rain barrel is dry and the earth appears scorched. I have been watering in the early a.m. hours and because I am an early morning riser I start off straight away. The sprinkler is currently set up in one section as I post and in a bit I will move it to another section etc. so everything will have had a good soak before the intense heat sets in. It's tedious as hell and getting old fast. Gratefully, when I have other chores that need to be done T. kindly waters the potted plants which, as usual, I have far too many of. Today I will have to top off the pond because the water level is getting lower than I and the fish would like it to be.
I've heard faint mention of us getting some rain sometime this week. The plants and I along with the frogs with their dry vocals will most welcome it when it does finally arrive.

Is it raining in New Orleans Casi? You win the Prize for APIAS Meteorologist of the Month!! A barometer is en route to you and should arrive via Amazon any minute now. Yes, it started raining just seconds after you wrote that post. Intermittent showers thru the night and forecasted to continue thru the day. YAY!! Can't you hear the frogs singing away? Happy, happy!!!

I wondered what that noise was. I thought Mrs Cactus had overeaten.

Getting hotter again over the next few days apparently. I just hope this awfully strong wind drops down, I hate wind.

I really should be outside building an ark right now. It's been raining since well before dark & shows no sign of abating. Lots of thunder, too.

We finally got some decent rain here after weeks without. Thunderstorms galore. More forecasted for today.
I like that there are decent intervals in between the downpours instead of constant rain. Most certainly because it allows for it to drain so we are not faced with street flooding and can also get out and take walks and go cycling. My husband is always checking the radar so, I have my own personal weatherman to let me know when it's coming or going etc.
Of course, the humidity is very high and the air is thick.
At night it's cool enough to sleep with the balcony door open. Last evening into the night I could hear the toads having an orgy out in the pond and in my next door neighbor's pond as well. I had thought that their mating season was over but, apparently not.

32° in Paris at 18:00. I didn't check the temperature earlier. I am quite happy to have an air conditioner in my upstairs room again.

And poor thing, you can't even go swimming in chlorinated water….... Strangely, for an ex sportsman I can barely swim but my children and grandchildren are like fish (they can swim like them that is. They don't look like fish).

Ever since Mick forecast rain for me here, it has continued to do so every day into the night. Again, with intervals in between.
I believe, but, I need to check with Mick and my husband to be sure, we are going to dry out starting tomorrow and then, back to the heat again. Of course, there will be loads of mosquitoes to deal with and lots of weeds to pull.
I am not complaining. This same system is stalled out over Houston and they are near flood stage if not already. This could easily have been us.
Our temperatures with the cloud cover and some breezes are a comfortable (for here) 80Fish. Then back up into the 90F's after this system moves on out.
You folks across the pond seem to be having quite the heat wave. That is what it is generally like for us until late September/early October.

Not so sure you will be drying out casi. Ok for a couple of days then back to the storms I reckon. Might even be a thunderstorm late morning for you. 31 here and very sunny. Record UV levels. Too hot to do anything,
Mowed lawns early and like a dishcloth once I had finished.

Mick - do the old "wet T shirt" trick to feel nice and cool. I had to wear a wet T-shirt in 42C heat when in Australia. It was black so no cheap thrills for anyone but oh how superb the coolness felt as the water evaporated. Try it braless and wear white…….
