Oh that is so marvellous Bixa. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to capture it all in a photo for us!

I had somehow missed seeing that pic Bixa at the end of the last page. How lush and gorgeous and happy all your plants look! I guess we'll be seeing some of that in the next few days. It is currently in the upper 70F's, partly cloudy, with some light gentle breezes. One would never know that two storms are brewing and heading our way. It makes me wonder how did people deal with catastrophic weather until it happened a hundred or so years ago? The temperature is not expected to get any higher that 80F and of course as the day moves into evening a lot of rain and much stronger "breezes".
P.S. If y'all don't see me on here tomorrow it'll be because we lost electrical power. Our power grid here is really fragile and it wouldn't take much to knock it out.

Thanks, ladies!
Fingers crossed that the storm either fizzles out or skips past you, Casimira. I see that Marco is no longer working up to hurricane strength, although Laura is definitely a threat. (I found the most beautiful hurricane map, which I'll go put in the hurricane thread.)

Weather of the gods. Why can't earth just slow down a bit so we can revel in this glorious sunshine with no humidity! 27C today, no wind, just lovely.

I am so effing sick of rain right now!
Admittedly, sitting here next to the living room windows listening to it is quite pleasant, but sheesh -- enough!
The sun was out this morning, so at least I sort of got to remember what sunlight is like.

Sounds absolutely miserable. It’s been really unpleasant here in North Florida, too. Rain, rain, rain. Today I went into my study to shut down and unplug my old computer during a storm and a flash if lightening and crashing thunder happened simultaneously. Seemingly just across the street.

Yikes! You unplugged in the nick of time.
I really love rain, but like so many other things, you appreciate it more in moderation.

We had intermittent showers today but they never last more than about 10 minutes and then the sun returns. Not real rain at all.

We just spent a week in the (lowish) mountains south of here, nearly at the Spanish border. We were really lucky with the weather, which can be quite changeable at the end of August. Some clouds hanging over the mountaintops early morning, then sunny and warm every day until Friday, when we were mostly in the clouds. Got home yesterday afternoon, to a soaking wet garden. Low 20s yesterday, an occasional downpour. It should be quite nice this week. It was only 14° this morning when I got up.

We currently have a low system sitting over us in North Central Florida. It’s supposed to rain all day then, as the system moves off into the Atlantic, it’s supposed to turn into something more turbulent. It’s possible what we’re experiencing today will become a tropical depression tomorrow.

We had thunder yesterday. Mafe for a pleasant evening and garden loved it. I swam in the pool, watching the rain bounce and dance on the water. When i was too wet i would submerge and swim underwater.

Sounds perfect, Whatagain!
It threatened rain yesterday evening, but it never materialized. Today was beautiful, with the bluest cloudless sky. Supposedly there is not to be any rain until the weekend.
The nicest thing about this respite from all the rain happened this morning. I woke up at seven and at first I thought I was still asleep and dreaming. My bedroom window looks out on an empty lot and the whole view from my bed is of a huge tree. The leaves of the tree, the patches of light in between the leaves, the sky, everything was glowing the most magnificent gold. Even if I was dreaming, I knew I had to get up to pee, and sure enough -- the light coming in from the hall windows had illuminated everything the with same magnificent gold light. What a way to start the day!

it feels kind of cold, but i guess that is just because i am still used to the heat wave - that's over for almost a week now, though, so we sometimes have rain, sometimes sun, and reasonable temperatures. one good thing about rain is that it is a lot less loud outside on rainy nights ... agnes and i both got a cold, though ...

At the moment, it is just before noon here, yet outside it looks like the end of the day. Very dark skies and steady rain. I’ve had to turn a light on inside to be able to see.

We have had a lot of rain here too. The deluges from the outer bands of "Laura" last week have left us only to be replaced with a pattern not uncommon of intermittent thunderstorms and downpours. It's hard to believe it's September 1st, but, I have always contended that September here is hotter than August. There's a breeze this morning but soon as it hits midday it will be ungodly hot.
As an aside, "Laura" ended up swacking Long Island and New Jersey this past weekend before going out to sea. What a circuitise route she took from here to there of all places.

7 pm: 24°, sunny, a few clouds floating around. It's a nice day which is drawing to a close. It's dark by 9 pm these days and this afternoon I saw a few leaves that are changing colour. It's a bit early because it's usually still really nice and warm here in September.
There was some heavy rain here while we were away so some of the grass in the garden is turning green, while some is still burnt and dead. But many of the wilting plants have perked up.
30° forecast for Friday.

This is basically the UK >75% of the time you know. Today it has been warm in the sun, but chilly out of it...there is a frisson of autumn in the air...
