I agree with Questa that at this level, smoke is definitely weather!
We had an immense storm here yesterday afternoon. I swear, I don't think I have ever seen rain that heavy outside of videos of hurricanes. I had to close the front door because the rain was flooding the porch and the hail was bouncing right into the living room. A large potted tree I have blew over, but by some miracle didn't break anything.
What did happen was that my phone and internet went out and I didn't get them back until around 10 this morning.

But your cistern is full. We are supposed to swelter for the next 3 days.

We are very hot today at 32C at the moment and 33C predicted t 1pm. It's blowing a gale so humidity is only 9%.

That's about the same temperature as Paris, due to last until Thursday.

34° here. Started out for a walk but it was just too warm, despite the wind blowing. It's from the southeast so doesn't cool anything off. It is supposed to cool off a bit on Tuesday but they keep postponing the forecast rain.

Started off sunny and now has deteriorated into a very cool overcast day. Quite a relief at an enjoyable 24C.

34°again. Lower than the 37° predicted for the area but still too hot.

I stayed indoors all day and my residence remained relatively cool. So it was all the more shocking when I went to the supermarket at 17:30 to buy a few things and felt the furnace blast of the 34° in Paris.

Light showers and too cool to stay outdoors.

Early this morning we had a bit of unforecast drizzle. Not enough to get wet under the trees. And now it's 27°, which is a lot more pleasant than the past few days.

"Record-breaking" temperatures in northern France. It seems totally fine to me since we were robbed of spring and part of summer due to confinement, so if summer decides to happen now instead, why not?

The more I hear Paris is hot as hell, the more I remember it that way. September in France as always been like an Indiana Summer for me.

Yes, September in Paris is always much warmer than people think. On forums like Trip Advisor, people were always asking things like how warmly they should dress, if they should bring rain boots and if the hotels were heated.

At this time of the year I am usually in Spain but not this year for obvious reasons.
Instead, next week we are off to Clacton-on-Sea! My sister in law has a mobile home on an excellent site so we are off for a break.

Sounds lovely, Mick -- I am jealous!
It is bucketing down like the end of the world again, the porch is flooded again, all my plants are in danger of rotting again. It's just as well that the virus is keeping me at home -- the dogs need access to the house because the blowing rain leaves them with no shelter outside.

I am really, really, really tired of the rain!
There was a brief spell where it wasn't raining, so I took the dogs for a quick walk at 7 pm. We managed to get back about a half hour later, whereupon it started pouring again. It hasn't stopped since. (1:20 am now)

It's finally raining properly here. A bit of drizzle during the night but nothing to speak of but now it is finally coming down enough to wet under the trees. Still mid-20s though.

It is finally raining in Paris, too. I hope that it lasts for more than a few minutes this time.

And of course it didn't. I am under the impression that all summer, it never rained more than 10 minutes at a time.

At least we didn't have rain yesterday during the day, although it was a constant threat. It rained all night long, though. There was some peek-a-boo sun today, but it's almost completely overcast right now. Rain is forecast for every day of the coming week.

Temperature predicted to reach 35C today. At the moment a high wind blowing which we call "A hot Berg wind" and it usually results in one or two grass fires.

It didn't rain yesterday!!! It's sunny right now, albeit rather weakly sunny. I don't care -- my dogs, plants, and I will take what we can get.

Superb here. So we went to a small lake, that reopened after about 20 years. Quite nice, you can swim with ducks for 5 euros. So i swam with Marie, the ducks and avoided the fishes... gosh the weather was perfect but the water cold. Probably under 20c. Difficult to enter but you can stay after a while.

I don't think it went over 13c today (though there was beautiful light) and I was very cold despite a warm fleece jacket over a pullover (no, there wasn't any wind - fleece is useless when there is wind). I'd also lost a lot of weight... The weather will warm up again starting tomorrow. I have to buy at least one pair of jeans in a smaller size, though I'm not so silly as to throw out or donate all the larger ones (falling down on me). I'm still chilly indoors, though I'll soon turn in with my little furry heater.
Actually, we have been affected by the horrific firestorms on the Pacific coast. The sky has had a weird haze, and I've definitely noted more breathing problems. The crap has drifted as far as western Europe! I do have friends in Vancouver.

18° this morning and it's wet outside so we had more rain during the night. More rain forecast on and off for the next few days. I can see my grass getting greener. Low 20s this week.

We actually reached 36C yesterday - just awful, but today it is a lovely cool 17C at the moment and not climbing much higher.
