Fairly perfect here. Winter is the best time to be in North Florida. No ticks or fleas, the reptiles are fairly calm, and the weather is mostly dry and cool.

The weather reports seem to be absolutely hoping that France will get a blanket of snow, but the temperature refuses to go down sufficiently for that (about 3-4° instead of 0°). Of course they are hoping for decorative snow rather than the nasty dangerous stuff. All of the mountains everywhere in France are buried in snow, much more than years when the ski resorts are open. Murphy's Law?

We just went for a walk because there is actually some sun shining even though it's only just over 4°. But the constant rain and the high water tables from the previous flooding means there is even more water spilling out of the lake than a couple of weeks ago.

Our garden is white from the repeated falls of sleet. 4° outside.

It's extremely nice here.

Today we had a few minutes of grésil which mistranslates as sleet. Grésil is something that starts out as snow in the upper altitudes, passes through a warmer layer of air and melts, and then heads for the ground in colder air. This creates miniscule pellets of ice, much smaller than hail. Very pleasant, but it melts as soon as it hits the ground.

We had some grésil the other day but it stayed on the grass for a couple of hours. Today it didn't even rain, although it was cloudy and no warmer than 5°. Still cold, but some sunshine forecast for the next couple of days. Maybe some of the floodwaters will start going down.

We had a little sprinkling of rain -- a blessing that dampened the dust and smelled lovely.

We had our first dry day of the year. Records for rain, and snow in the mountains, have been falling daily along with flooding and hillsides sliding away. The playfield I like to take my dog to had ducks swimming around in it yesterday afternoon. Don't see that too often.

It has been cold in the morning the past two days, but it has stopped raining here too. The flooding this time was worse than in mid-December and yesterday the water near the lake was still high, with some roads cut off.

Snow on the hoods today. Snow above 400 meters, so the limit of snow is a little bit south of us.

The temperature has gone up 2 degrees so it's now only -2°! But the sky is blue. We might get up to 4 or 5° this afternoon.

A tad chilly for me here. Low 40F's but sunny and dry. No major complaints, just some extra bedcovers.

Still basically waiting for our first real snowflake in Paris while Spain is buried under the most massive snow in 40 years.

It’s very cold here in North Florida right now and the timing hasn’t been good for me. My younger sister and her husband are traveling through the area, staying about an hour from me, and we’ve been trying to visit for the past two days while social distancing outside. I’ve been home an hour now and I’m still cold from our visit today. Yesterday we actually had a picnic lunch and grilled chicken while sitting in the cold wind. Today we skipped that nonsense and huddled in our warm clothes while trying to keep our teeth from chattering. Welcome to sunny Florida LOL.

Same here HTMB. I want to go out and do some piddling in the garden but don't want to get all bundled up to go out there and have my hands go numb. I have a couple of friends who are currently in Florida. They went there specifically to be able to hang out on the beach in an isolated area. They are sorely disappointed in that it's much, much chillier there than they had expected.

I may have misread this but you want to do some piddling in the garden??

"Piddle" as in putter and or dawdle. Clearly an example of how some English words can take on different meanings.
That being said, I have on occasion "piddled" in the manner of which you are referring. When I had my garden business there were a few occasions when I had to get "creative" when I had no other choice. But, it was always in a very private and secluded space.

At my weekly gardening job I sometimes have to be creative.
Btw, that definition of piddling is new to me although I have known it be used to mean small or insignificant.
