So glad you're having that lovely weather, Mich. It must be a little sad every year when it finally gets too cold for a dip in the lake.

Another cool (7°C) morning and another sunny afternoon forecast. Big temperature differences between day and night these days -- 10 to 15°.

Yikes, Tod!
We routinely have 20° and higher variations between day and night temperatures. It's something to be aware of when getting dressed for the day, as a lovely morning can turn into a scorching afternoon.

I experienced 20C daily changes at Lake Tahoe when I was a kid. On the beach in the afternoon, shivering under two blankets at night. I suppose it's normal at high altitude.

Fumobici is right about altitude's effect on temperature. Patzcuaro, which is 2,000 feet higher than Oaxaca, can be downright frosty at night & in the mornings, no matter the daytime temperature.

Raining which has put paid to my plan of painting outside again.
Also pretty miserable and chilly at the home of our South African correspondent.

Back to the normal range in temperature, 10C this morning. It was sunny but has clouded over. The leaves are almost all down, that seems about a couple of weeks early.

21° and sunny here. The weather has been lovely all week and is continuing. Forecast for Tuesday is 27° -- we'll see if we get there.

It's sunny but autumn in the north is starting to feel like "late autumn." All around Paris, temperatures are getting as low as 0° overnight, but since Paris is a big hot thing, we only get down to about 7°.

Yes indeed Mick! The weather yesterday and today has been lovely and cool. If one stays outdoors without a cardigan it becomes unbearable. My aperitif tonight ( pale dry sherry) will be consumed indoors where it is warmer...

We had some cold mornings last week (6°, 7°...) but at the moment (8:30 pm) it's still 20° outside! Very strange weather these days. It was 25° this afternoon and sunny. The farmers are going to start complaining about the lack of rain soon.

The wave of rain that was promised is now drenching Paris tonight. But I think we're supposed to have a weird hot day soon.

Another cloudy day but at least no rain so far. My husband has gotten approximately 90% of the leaves taken care of. We could not believe how fast they came down! We wonder what indicator that will prove to be, neither of us can remember such a quick turn in weather, swimming one week and bagging and mowing fallen leaves the next week.

I try to hold off using any heat in my flat until November. So far so good. We also try to hold off, for us it is usually around October 15th. We had it on for a few hours earlier this month (mostly due to dampness) but we did have to turn on the gas fireplace this afternoon as the temperature in the house was down to 16C. If it had been a sunny day we would not have needed to turn it on.

Ridiculously warm here this night/morning -- it was 20° at 7 am. Another warm day forecast although it is supposed to rain this evening and start cooling off. It was 27° yesterday and felt like summer.

Meteo France continues its erroneous forecasts, at least for this area. Some wind during the night but no rain. Still mild this morning. Allegedly there were strong winds in northern France and storm surges on the Breton and Norman coasts, but nothing much here.

We had wild weather in northern France, with extreme wind in the middle of the night. Trains and roads were disrupted this morning by fallen trees and branches, also a few small tornados (we have tornados now but not the size of the American ones). And the temperature has dropped considerably.

The blustery wind is stirring up dust and clusters of pollen off the trees. It is a hot wind and not a good sign. A predicted 31C today but the cloud cover has helped somewhat.

It was relatively chilly in Paris today. I liked it. I got out a new element of outerwear that I had not worn in 2 years.
