Its dark and dank here by 7 pm tonight , Winter is on its way. Today I as ever refused to turn on the heating in September , but had to add 3 extra layers earlier, as I was working at home. Rising gas and electricity bills mean that I will have to buy some thermals.

It is a bright sunny day! We have had so much cloud and rain since the end of August, perhaps we will have a beautiful October. It is about 18C and I am about to greet a dear friend coming out to visit me, we will go down to the dock to enjoy the late afternoon sun.

Nice to hear mich. Nothing better than warm October days. It was a beautiful afternoon! The boat has to come out tomorrow, it is too bad as the weather for the next week looks so nice but it has to go in for winterizing and appointments are difficult to get. We did not think it would be this nice this week!

It has been raining sporadically for the past two days. I don't mind. It is the right season for it.

The clear sky this night means it was 9° this morning but it should be sunny and up to about 20° later on today.

Got quite nippy late yesterday afternoon and rained lightly. It started with 14C but should hit 24C by 2pm. Kind of nice day.

Strange weather for October. Overcast but very sticky and humid. Not pleasant.

Humph ~ people who brag about their exotic-sounding historical place names! Pretty cool, Huckle!

In the 20-some C's. Lovely weather, though of course it is due to global heating; very little snow last winter. While I don't want our planet to become a cinder, at the same time, I'm always cold...

Ah! the poetry in a cluster of place names. I hope they read the list in the monotone that the BBC does for the shipping news. I used to tune in to BBC world news just to hear the chant. Place names in aboriginal languages string along nicely, too. I'll see if I can find some.

Bright sun and a rather cool breeze greeted me this morning. There is nothing like sunny weather to get one up and making breakfast before 9am!

North Utsire, South Utsire....
Lovely warm sunny day yesterday and the promise of another one today. I’m doing some outside painting so this weather is perfect.

Oh how I loved the shipping news. Then you might enjoy this version that the august Brian Perkins lent his voice to (I think after he retired from the BBC): I read somewhere that the dulcet-toned Charlotte Green (who often read the midnight shipping forecast) once got s fan letter from a man who asked her to slow down a bit as he didn't want it to end too soon.

The French shipping forecast was wonderful, too. It ended in 2016.

This morning it's 7° here! Clear sky though, so it will be sunny and around 20° this afternoon, like it has been every day lately. Set to continue as well.

Snow is in our forecast. Bozeman Montana already got inches of snow, but west of the divide we might not even need to find our snow shovels.

Very sunny here, with a high of 88°/31°, humidity 53%. It was really too hot and glary to be out there on the patio working, but work I did. It's time for the repotting/reorganizing frenzy & the project must go forth. Looks nice.

It has been unseasonably warm for the past week. My husband was even in for a swim twice last week. Can not remember him ever swimming in October! Today it was 24C an tomorrow is forecasted to be 26C and a humidity temperature being 30C. I think he will be swimming again tomorrow!
We had to switch back to our summer coverlet, the duvet was put aside for now.
