It's supposed to be less hellish this week -- high temps @90 -- but no rain forecast until this coming Wednesday.
Water rationing is being imposed on Coatepec, although supposedly my area is not affected by it. We shall see. As it is, all of the grass in the two back yards is dead or dying. I have a very small area of garden & pots in the back patio which I'm trying to keep alive. But the section where I had my vegetable garden last year is pretty well abandoned. I'm trying to keep the parsley patch going & the banana tree from dying, but feel it's irresponsible to use more water than that.
One thing I've noticed is that the trucks that go up and down neighborhoods hawking fruit in season have not been passing. Probably the produce suffers too much in the sun in back of the truck, so the vendors wind up losing too much. Also, who knows how many crops have been affected by this nation-wide drought & heat wave.

Sorry to read of the weather conditions in your region Bixa! Hoping for relief soon.
Sunny but cooler today. Finally found a few moments to plant some annuals in our gardens yesterday. The grass is so green and the leaves on the trees are so large this year.

supposedly my area is not affected by it. Do you have 100% running water now, or do you still have to stock it?

I've lived in this house since March 1, 2023 and only once has water not come out of the faucet connected to the pipe where city water enters. That was before the drought & didn't last long, so was probably for some other reason.
As you can imagine, I'm quite skittish about water usage, even as I glory in the knowledge that I have 100% running water

We have had some rain these days but it's quite pleasant spring weather. This morning it's 14°, some sun and a few clouds. Supposed to be around 20 or 21 later. Warmer next week.

Shouldn't it be warm by now, Mick?
I spent a big part of yesterday in literally the most beautiful house I've ever seen -- a real work of art filled with an astounding art collection. That of course was as nice as could be, but it also had solar power so there was ~~ 𝓪𝓲𝓻 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓭𝓲𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰

It should be warm by now bixa but you’ve pinched all my heat.
Therefore I propose a swap - 10c of your heat for 10c of our cold.
Deal?

Sadly, no, Lugg. It is the home of friends who are gracious & civilized, more's the pity. I was dying to photograph every square inch. They have major art in the john!
Glad you had a beautiful day to kick off June. Long may it reign!
If they're not lying, we might get rain on Wednesday.

It has been really nice here today. At 8pm it's 24° and sunny, that's the warmest it has been all day. Very pleasant with a bit of a breeze.

What an outstanding photo Kimby, looks like a beautiful place.
Quite warm today, 25C with full sunshine, a few clouds around. Days like this will warm up the lake water quickly.

Hellish temperatures and no rain continue here, but the worst is that there are forest and wild fires all around, some within the municipality where I live. There are calls out on social media and in the news for people to come with cars, trucks, animal cages, and whatever else is needed to help evacuate those in the fire zones.

Sounds awful, Bixa.
Nice here, sunny and 21° at 11am. We are supposed to get to about 27° later but the clouds floating overhead are a sign of storms and rain for the end of the week. That's okay with me -- the garden is dry.

Tlaloc be praised! It is raining, finally. It was pelting down a few minutes ago, but the sky is getting suspiciously brighter right now. Rain, rain, don't go away!

Much nicer weekend than predicted -- we had a big thunderstorm on Saturday night but yesterdy was sunny and breezy, even if not really hot. At the moment it's°, supposed to be low 20s later. But I am off to Spain and then back to France by ship in a little while.

Greater SYD awash again. big dams needing to open overflows...downstream copping danger. YET it is dangerously dry and drought experts gloomy.

We have had such cool temperatures for the past couple of days that i had to put the electric fireplace on and put a blanket normally used in winter back onto our bed!
We put together a new patio swing for my parents last week and they are enjoying it so much but i noticed a winter comforter blanket folded up outside when we visited yesterday. Apparently they have been outside the past few evenings swinging away watching their neighbours out for walks. So nice to see them enjoying themselves even if the weather is quite cool.
