That was a sweet thing you did for your parents, Mich. How lovely for you to see the evidence of their enjoying it.
Isn't June usually the beginning of summer where you are?

Yes Bixa, it is usually quite a pleasant month with sunshine and warmer temperatures, the issue of complaint is usually just the black flies and mosquitoes.
My parents love it when families come up the driveway with their dogs and stop for a chat. The winter season keeps them indoors for about 3 months except for a weekly shop of groceries and the occasional appointment.

We had a correct week end so we needed rain.
It has been pouring down half of the day. I got drenched.
Today is only 12c.
But dry. Not bad for a winter month.

Tonight the weather report said we were moving from April to early May.

It gets no better. It’s cold and miserable. And now it’s raining.

I should be driving down to Spain at the end of the month but I'm so fed up with our weather - same as England but just a degree or two warmer but plenty of rain - I've decided to go next week.

That'll teach it to act better!
In contrast to yesterday, when the light at 7 pm reminded me that we're at the longest days of the year, today was generally overcast & breezy. It's not even 4:30 right now, but the light is so glum that it seems later.
I'm not complaining, though. This is a much welcome respite from two weeks of miserable heat and burning sun.

In Scotland last week it didn't get dark until about 23:30...and would be light again apbefore 04:00 the next morning. It's only 330 miles north of here...we are dark before 22:00.
It's becoming normal for it to rain a lot here in the early summer, but temperatures are oddly low for the time of year.

Funny to hear the complaints about the cold and wet from Englanders the past month coming off the warmest May since 1880.

The warmth was mainly down to unusually high night temperatures.
It was pretty sunless and the average temperature was a sweltering 13.1c

Today was just right. My friend who lives nearby accompanied me downtown so I could hit the atm while the dollar is still strong against the peso. She is Canadian, so wasn't as bouncy about a trip to the bank as I was. Still, it was a nice walk, as it wasn't nearly so hot today -- only got up into the low 80s -- and there was a breeze to alleviate the very high humidity. We sat for a while in the shady main square before heading home.
On the way back, we went into the plant nursery where I got a couple of Calibrachoas to fill in the sun-killed spots in the front bed.
As soon as I got home I planted the new acquisitions & watered them in well. Less than a half hour later we got a good soaking rain. It's quarter after ten now & pleasantly cool -- good sleeping weather. Happy!

We are supposed to get to 30° today but it's a bit windy so feels fine. It was already 18° this morning. Generally up and down temperatures continuing these days.

Overcast, coolish, & breezy here. All the doors & windows are open. The breeze is wafting through the house & my windchimes are playing softly. It is nice.

We had a good solid 2 hours of sun. After that some rain. Now overcast. No spring this year we should reboot the system.

Why aren’t there heatwaves in the Caribbean? Because of tropical storm Alberto & the subsequent systems building up in the Gulf of Mexico.

tra la la for you, but for me ~~
I'm going to a much-anticipated outdoor event today with some dread because of the weather. It has been raining lengthily and heavily off and on for the past several days & the same is forecast for today. I've been up for over an hour and a half & have yet to see a single ray of sunshine.
