This morning it's 24° and a bit of (unforecast) rain has begun. Not very heavy but I'll take whatever I can get because the garden is dry as a bone.

Well, the satisfaction in the previous post lasted about half an hour. So much for forecast storms. No more rain predicted in the coming week but at least it's not too hot. About 25° in the afternoons.

My goodness! The temperature was only 10C when I got up this morning! The weather has turned fall like overnight. The past 2 days were quite warm and humid feeling quite like summer and in one night I think that was the last of it. Lots of rain as well, not flooding here like it has been in southern Ontario but quite wet.
We were fishing the other day and were not getting to many nibbles because it was probably too warm out so, hopefully we have more time this week to get back out on the boat.

Fish respond to atmospheric pressure, so perhaps the approaching storm (low pressure system) put them off their feed?
Edited to add this from Professor Google
“According to the time tested "fisherman's barometer" anything below 29.8 is designated as the low-pressure zone, meaning poor fishing. Above 30.2 is the high-pressure zone, meaning average fishing. The zone between 29.8 and 30.2 is shown as the area for best fishing. This barometer also says that better fishing occurs when the barometer is rising than when it is falling.”

It might not be fall yet, Mich. Yesterday and today here it was 14° in the morning after clear nights. Still having mid-20s in the afternoons.

Summer seems to be coming to and end in Paris, but I'm sure there are plenty of hot days left, probably just in time to make the parathletes suffer.

Where would you go fishing Mick, anywhere near you or where you lived previously? It is a favourite past time of mine, very relaxing. Sometimes I will cast from our dock but we enjoy it more from the boat.
Well, I did not know Kimby anything about the barometer rising being beneficial, but I will now give more focus on that and see if we do better!
bjd it is supposed to warm up by the weekend here! I hope so as it is cool again today, 18C but at least it is mainly sunny.
With the cool weather it did give us a reminder to contact our repairman to service our propane fireplaces and our marina to book appointment for fall service. My husband mentioned the weather prompted him to call and they both said it was a good thing as appointments for the fall are already filling up!

We haven't needed to have the a/c on for a few days. The last time we had it on (usually in the late afternoons until we go to bed around 10pm) the temperature dropped so much in the hall that the central heating kicked in and the radiators came on!
It was drizzling this morning when I went into town...by the time I got the bus home it was sunny and warm.

It was about 30C for most of today so far with cloudy overcast skies. We are under a heavy/severe rain warning, but we have not had a drop as of yet. This heat will have to break soon so I expect we will have a storm this evening. Temperatures are expected to return to normal or below for the remainder of the week.

It poured here starting about an hour ago. That has dwindled to almost nothing, but there are very long bouts of rolling thunder and some lightning.

The rain has started pouring so that the Paralympic closing ceremony can create a symbolic link with the Olympic opening ceremony.

Raining like the end of the world right now (10:31 pm, Sept. 9). I guess I'll be trapped at home again, the way I was yesterday because my street will again turn into mud and slick clay, along with Lake Pontchartrain in front of what would be my sidewalk if I still had one.

What an incredibly beautiful day it was. We are in for a week of summer weather, so they say. We had many chores today to get ready for this coming weekend that we did not get to spend any time enjoying the weather. But got a lot accomplished! Hoping for a day out on the lake tomorrow. Temperature was about 25C today.

Is that called Indian Summer in Canada, as it is in the US? Sounds wonderful.
Relentless rain here. I've been in all day except for once when I went out & picked my way across the muck to the little store catty-corner across the street.
