Lovely flower & it looks as though there are more to come. Do you call it the "I told you so" flower?

Beautiful photo Bixa. The stamens look like snail antlers to me!

Oh, now that you've pointed it out, they do! You do have the most wonderful angle on things, Tod. (seeing twerking in an antique Turkish painting -- ) Those flowers are teensy in real life. The photo magnifies them at least 50x.

That hoya reminds me bit of a mountain laurel I have which frustratingly only blooms every five or six years.

Hoya? Do you mean Amboseli's recalcitrant orchid?

Ooops, wrong thread. I meant to post to your hoya in What's in Bloom?. The danger of browsing the site by recent posts instead of in the proper context. Plus I am very, very jetlagged. It's one in the morning here and I'm not sleeping.

But you are in >>>Venice<<<, yes? *sigh* That is so wonderful!
I'm so much further east from where you live -- can't imagine what a pain crossing those extra time zones must be.

BEAUTIFUL! you got all the camera settings just perfect. I love the red leaves against the white bark of what I think is a Japanese Maple? Your dangling stamens are wonderful Bixa.

Thank you, Tod! That Japanese maple relieved the boredom of waiting at the Lawton, Okla. airport. I might have known that your artistic eye would appreciate the dangling stamens.

I am impressed Amboseli! That looks wonderful. I have a blank wall in my kitchen courtyard that could do with some brightening up....may just be a copycat!

Super rich colors, Bixa! I like to look at interesting detail on leaves. Was that a large leaf, Kerouac?
