Gangsters at work in Brussels. 4 shootings in as many days in Bruxelles making some victims, all drug dealers. In the center of Bxl, close to the door of Halle

Oh, I know the area of the Porte de Halle. I never thought there was anything worth stealing there except maybe, uh, drugs.

We have a new internet thingy. With our old one we were getting about 7 mbps (on a good day with the wind behind it). Now we are getting 40- 400 (possibly up to 500) mbps. Just spent ages updating all of our devices.
Just need to sort out the phone and we will be up and running. I was expecting it to be much more complicated and am just waiting for something to go wrong....

I recently had to change mobile networks and out of curiosity while walking the dog at the cemetery across the way I did a speed test on my phone. I'm getting just shy of 400Mbps, which seems kind of ridiculously fast for a pocket device but I'm not exactly complaining. You could stream 4k video with that sort of bandwidth.

I don't know where to put this...from the BBC website
....Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny is dead, the prison service of the region where he had been serving his sentence says Navalny, an outspoken critic of President Putin, has been in Russian jail since 2021 on charges widely viewed as politically motivated Navalny's wife, Yulia Navalnaya, has said she doesn't know whether the "horrible news" is true Kira Yarmysh, Navalny's spokesperson, said his team had yet to receive confirmation of the death but his lawyer was travelling to Siberia Putin's spokesman said Russian's penitentiary service was looking into Navalny's death but provided no further information'...

I've never tried a red bull...I do drink Pepsi Max which is really bad for me (but so gooooood) but only 2 or 3 times per week.
Blah blah...I'm making a cot quilt for the new baby great grandson. I have given up on the one I started a few days ago because it's not to my liking. Started a different one with more harmoniously coloured fabric.

I have one little one -- a copy of a 16th century Japanese carp -- on the outside of my right ankle Unfortunately, my skin does not take tattoos well. I like yours. Will you explain it?

Yes Bixa, of course. It means Robin in hieroglyphs. My daughter has the same and our eldest also has a tattoo related to her brother. So I thought i'd make a link between our dead son and my living daughters. I have wanted since his death to have a tattoo of him. It only took me 15 years...

Personally I don't like tattoos at all and find them tacky. I understand your reason for getting one, Whatagain, but I still don't like them.
When I see some of the young (late 30s and mid-40s) women at the gym with tattoos, I think, "Just wait until you are 60 and that skin starts to sag!"

Looks clean and precise. Not red at all like I'd expect from a fresh tattoo. Any particular reason why on the left arm and not the right?

Bjd I am like you,and at home when I was à kid having a tattoo was à proof of being either à criminal or worse. Now, I like some tattoo. But some are really like repellent.
Mark, no idea, I asked myself the same question after it was done.

I'm a blood donor so can't have a tattoo as it knocks me off the register. Also I'm a coward so there is that. I like your tattoo Whatagain, it's a lovely memorial and always with you. A relative or 5 (on my husband's side of the family) have those massive whole limb tattoos and I'm not keen on those. Don't like lots of random unconnected ones, like Ed Sheeran has eiher.... I have pierced earlobes...that's as racy as I get.

Me too, Cheery, although I wouldn't call that "racy". We had a visit two years ago from a retired dermatologist. We went out to dinner and when he saw the tattoos on the waitress he said two things. First, "She's a nice looking woman, too bad about the tattoos." And added, "None of these people realize how unhealthy it is to put that ink on their skins."

I do like your tattoo whatagain and the reason why you chose to get one.
I have none and never expect to get a tattoo, but I can appreciate/understand those who choose them, especially when they have meaning. Some sleeve tattoos that I have seen on people are quite beautiful, but some are definitely not nice.
I have pierced ears as well! I always wear earrings, I do not feel completely dressed without them.

I don’t know if having a tattoo in Belgium makes you negligible for donating your blood but my Melanauma does.

Mich, that is so true about wearing earrings! I have left the house in a hurry & neglected to put on earrings. The rest of the day always feels "off".

Bixa when I have forgotten I am actually self-conscious that it will be noticed that I am not fully dressed! Of course, that is absolutely ridiculous but I have probably worn earrings most every day for over 40 years.

My mother wore clip on earrings as a schoolteacher but ripped them off the moment she got home because she despised earrings.

I can understand that Kerouac, I never liked the clip on earrings they pinched and were really uncomfortable.
