And I have a purple one I'm dying to wear.
Akshully it is a long dress, Indonesian style I bought to wear as an invited guest at the wedding of a famous actress in Indo, and the son of the Governor of Lombok and Sumbawa and surrounding islands.
The body of the dress is elasticised Lame, twinkling a gorgeous claret purple. The long sleeves are a cacophony of purple lace and sequins to match the bodice. Down the front is a panel of embroidery surrounded by pearl borders,
I feel like a kid playing dress-ups in it and have decided to be dressed in it for my funeral, not that anyone will see it!

Now I'm wondering what happened to your most recently deceased family members.
For me, it was my mother (2016), who was cremated, but I added her to the family plot in the village of her birth, where my stepfather's ashes were waiting for her, as well as my mother's parents and grandparents. There are actually two separate tombs. The old one went on until something like 1945 and the new one started with my grandfather in 1973.

My youngest sister, who died in January 2020 from traumatic brain injury suffered in a fall on steps, was cremated in New Orleans where she died (after the coroner’s investigation was completed) and shipped to her widowed husband in Arizona where they had resided. He took half her ashes to the beach in Capitola California, where (as he said) they had fallen in love, and scattered them into the waves with a mass of rose petals.
The other half of her ashes he sent to us to bury in the family doggy cemetery at the cabin in Wisconsin where some of our parents ashes were buried.
My remaining sister and I were preparing the cabin for sale and had a taxidermied peregrine falcon that Dad had scavenged or been given years ago. It is illegal to possess a protected species, so we decided not to have the bird hauled off by the estate auction company and risk someone getting in trouble, and put the bird in the hole before adding Ricky’s ashes.
So now the family plot contains the remains of four dogs, a falcon, two parents and a sister. But that will be all. The cabin was sold a few months later and the new owner pretty much removed all traces of our almost 70-year tenure on the land and built a big beautiful new home on the site. I don’t know if he avoided or obliterated the family plot…. but they aren’t really there anyway….

M’y mother who died 5 years ago joined the family grave where my paternal grandparents rest. There is one place left for my father.
During Covid my Mil’s godfather was to be buried. He had a place in the (large) family grave but somebody else had been buried in his rest place. I didn’t get the details… So the guy was removed.. bloody squatter !

I am not sure if I have posted about this before ...apols if so. But several years ago my ex asked me to store some of his mothers belongings and ( stupidly) I agreed...so her belongings were stacked in my garage. Now years later I am clearing the house for selling and asked my DIL to help clear the garage for me . She went through several boxes and found a box containing my FIL ashes .
They are still here .. We have recovered from our shock although it still appalls me . But now ...what the hell do I do with them when I move?
