I love a woman in uniform. Especially a dangerous woman in uniform -

I somehow got a photo from the rear as well. Don't know how that happened. Maybe just an automatic reflex.

I bet they do target practice on testicle targets.

To qualify as a top sniper they have to find the male brain for their target...a more difficult task.

If they were aiming at the male brain, located in the genitals, they'd have no problem hitting mine as it is so large.
I've often been called a big prick, but I think they've meant something else.

I most certainly do. And talking about adventurous things, or at least a little unusual/out of the ordinary, read on.

I'll do a more comprehensive report, probably when I return or if I stay somewhere for a few days. But for now I'll just drop in a few things to take your mind off the drudgery of day to day living. The plan is/was, I'd have couple of days knocking around and getting a driving licence for Sri Lanka, as an International one or a home country one is not good enough. You have to get a local one, which is easy enough to do but just takes a bit of time. I'd rather not anyway jump straight into travelling without having a day or two lazing around. So I did. I also got my haircut, which it needed and cost just 2 Euro. The barber did a good job and I look twenty years younger. It's good to look eighteen again. This lunchtime I picked up my transport for the next couple of weeks or so. I've done cars, campers, 4wd's, bicycles, motorbikes, trucks and the such like. Even canal boats. So I thought I'd have a laugh with one of these - Any ideas for a name? Apart from "Noisy gear grinding shitbag"? I drove about 60km south to my first stop and I'll have twice that to do tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

I hope to read a full road test at the end of the journey. They corner like a wheelbarrow full of water...indeed, if you get a heavy shower of rain, it becomes even more like one. But they are fun and it is cheap to get around. Travel safe.

Of course. Silly me.
How is the infrastructure now? I was there 18 months after the Tsunami and with aid money there were teams buildings bridges and roads at a rapid pace. The hostilities between the various factions had ceased but around Trinca it was still tense. Went to a fishing village where all the males from about 12 to 60 were out fishing when the tsunami hit. Now it is a village of women with a few kids and 2 old men.

There are still reminders of the devastation and locals often point things out to me but most has been re-built. I've not got that far north yet to see if there is still any feelings there but I'm on my way.

" Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas.”
Now there is a nice Sri Lankan name for your vehicle. I'm sure the cricketer known as Chaminda Vaas would be honoured.
Your photo is magnificent, I'm lost for words.

Thanks about the photo.
The name needs a bit of work. Not quite 'punchy' enough. Close though. Maybe Ladybug as it's red and black. Maybe just Kevin. Or Sharon.
Yeah, one of them.

Staying inland tonight. Somewhat less humid and a bit more comfortable. Stopped for a break late morning (no, I'm not driving with me feet) - And yes, I am using my phone as a satnav thing. Maps.me - excellent and good enough off line with smaller file sizes than using offline Google. I'm certainly not using data to do it.

You can't call the car a banger because if it did there'd be nothing left. How about Old Boot

I may well need to boot it up its arse a time or two before the journey is out, so it could be relevant for sure.

That's about how I looked when I tried to go to Sri Lanka on a holiday. I briefly set foot at the airport in Colombo when I went to the Maldives, but of course that doesn't count. I planned a real trip to Sri Lanka a year or two later, but I was mugged the night before my departure and left in a pool of blood in front of my building. (Yes, I have an interesting life.) I spent the next 12 or so days in hospital while my face was put back together. It was funny because I managed to call my office the very next day after the attack to tell them that I was not going to Colombo after all, and they said "yes, we know! Your flight left 6 hours late and totally missed the connection. What a shame!" Since I was flying on the airline of my employer, everybody always paid attention to every flight detail every day since there was almost always a colleague on board.
Anyway, excellent photos so far.
