Not.

During the campaign, didn't Biden say that he would only serve one term? Well, now that he wants to serve two terms, it is becoming pretty obvious that he will only serve one term. Get ready to welcome back President Trump. I don't remember Biden ever saying that, but the way he's been failbotting on his campaign promises (combined with choosing awful Kamala Harris as Veep) is all a great gift to Trump and the Rs. It's so bad people are actually predicting a Clinton-Trump rematch. Between Hillary and Trump, I don't much care, it's an utter nightmare either way I wish them both to just go the f away.

Translation - Failbot - "Describing someone or an event which failed greatly in terms of its objective." Or maybe also having relevance - "Failboat (n.): A failed organization or a group of idiots. Doomed to failure and full of ineptitude, they still continue to sail away on the sea of stupidity." Note to self - need to keep up to date on slang and memes.

If the US enacted a maximum age for being allowed to run for president, perhaps a lot of this could be avoided. When I see Biden, I just think he looks too old for the job. As does Trump, who has other disadvantages too.

As does Trump, who has other disadvantages too. A very fine and simple idea. They could do that for Popes as well although it would be better if there were no Popes at all.

Instead of failbotting wouldn’t the word “failing” have worked just as well?
I like failboat though.

Instead of failbotting wouldn’t the word “failing” have worked just as well? I like failboat though. It would but the meaning would be significantly different. "Failing" can be the result of earnest hard effort; "failbotting" is something programmed to fail, or so preternaturally gifted at failing that it is then expected and predictable.

Or in terms of recent British politics, it's the difference between Theresa May on the one hand and, on the other, Chris Grayling. Or Matt Hancock. Or Grant Shapps. Or (to balance it a bit) Jeremy Corbyn.

Biden’s poll numbers keep slipping, not because of what he’s actually done or not done, but because of media reportage that focuses on the negative and forgets to acknowledge the positives.
Last night I heard a list of things that were accomplished in Biden’s first year, many of which have had a positive impact on ordinary peoples’ lives. But because of inflation woes, he’s getting no credit.
Meanwhile the (so-called) Republicans are busy stacking the deck for an electoral takeover of the US government since their attempted coup failed last January. They must not be allowed to turn the US into a sham democracy and a de facto dictatorship.

I can't believe how much the "liberal rags" WP & NYT pick, pick, pick at everything in this administration, sometimes to the point of putting a negative spin on something neutral or even positive. As for your last paragraph -- you'd think the entire country would be alarmed & up in arms, but .....

The media in France were delighted to show Biden calling the Fox News reporter a son of a bitch, but part of that was to balance all of the flak that Macron took for saying he wanted to "piss off" the antivaxxers with the new measures in France.

I wonder the same thing Kerouac. Perhaps his advisors are trying to take the focus off of his domestic blunders and shifting it elsewhere in an attempt to assure the US is being kept safe from outside threats.

I imagine that he considers it a win-win situation. If nothing happens he can say that it is because he stopped it and if something happens he can say "I told you so."

I continue to wonder what the hell is happening in Ukraine and why the United States is foaming at the mouth. Today they showed the "satellite image" proof of Russian troop buildup once again. Are we suppose to have forgotten how such photos can be faked, as they were as an excuse to start the war in Iraq. WMD and dairy factories being called "missile depots"? Perhaps they think that the new generation can be tricked like their parents were.
Maybe Russia really is preparing to attack Ukraine, but this stupid presentation of "proof" will never convince me. It didn't back then and it doesn't now.

The US spooks have such a long and lurid history of peddling outrageous whole-cloth lies in order to get the bombs and blood flowing that only the most credulous idiot could take anything they assert seriously. But this is the US, so finding credulous idiots is about as hard as falling over. The part that endlessly baffles me is the number of well-educated, liberal professionals that can be safely relied upon time after time to fall for the "intelligence community's" lies. It's like Charlie Brown, Lucy, and the football. No matter how many times it repeats, they never learn a thing.

So it appears the New York Times came out with an article that seems to say that the laptop allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden that was abandoned at a Delaware repair shop owned by a blind man, is actually real.
Having a hard time believing this, it was such an implausible setup, and too much the kind of dirty trick you’d expect Trump’s flunkies to pull.
But the NYT? I can’t get past the paywall, but someone who can, please enlighten us?

I don't think much serious doubt existed that the Hunter Biden laptop was a real thing. It should be investigated in the same way that Trump's family is investigated I suppose. Hunter is, without a doubt, a pretty sketchy, skeezy, and questionable character.

Yes Kimby, the NYT did indeed cop to the laptop's existence. It was in the Wednesday, 3/16 edition.
And I do believe it's real. As Fumobici already cited.
