spinny - I DO actually know how to c&p - but somehow it refuses to do it there - when I have highlighted the url and go to right click i get the huge list of stuff "select all" etc.. that does not include "copy"... it happens on this machine quite often and I have NO idea why?/ the mysteries of pooters.

Well, as you said before, scrupulously copying the URL and typing it yourself did not seem to work either. I say throw that damn thing out the window and buy a half dozen new ones.

Have you tried highlighting, then holding down the Control key and the letter C key at the same time? That will copy. Then, when you want to paste, hold down the Control key and the letter V key at the same time.

One way to find out if a url is any good or not is to paste it in your browser window. For instance, go to Google or someplace, then replace the url in the address window with the oneyou want to test. If it's a working url, it will open up.

good on ya, voy. now I'm gonna tell you that, like Dorothy with her ruby slippers, you had the power all along to do the same thing and bring your TTR lobstah (antlers and all) over here by following the same procedure.
but this one feels more spring-like, so do keep it.
