FAFO (the sticker in the rear windshield) stands for F*ck Around and Find Out, Google tells me. Not sure about the license plate, of several options Google came up with, the most likely is a radio-controlled racing buggy. A big boy’s toy.

Not really unexpected in conservative Montana, but at least there wasn’t a Trump flag flying in the truck bed. Or testicles hanging from that multi-headed trailer hitch.

Silly you kimby ! 😉 they invented things called gloves, you know ... I clean like that every time we leave the Sanibel house. Never had a problem before. Maybe it was using store brand bleach instead of Clorox? Slowly getting better as the dead skin falls off my fingertips.

Here’s some of the daffs and tulips in bloom this week: Oh, and a hyacinth that I’d been gifted as a potted plant and put in the ground a few years back: (Why didn’t I pull that pine needles out before snapping the shot?)

Glad to see you're getting success from your bulbs, Kimby, after all the troubles with deer and other gourmet critters. I've never seen crocus that beautifully colored before! Thanks, Bixa, dear, it’s a crocus called ruby something as I recall. I planted about 30 groups of bulbs in 1986, and the crocuses are the main survivors of that Herculean effort (I removed wheelbarrow loads of rocks digging the holes.) These blooms - and a handful of other crocus clumps, plus 3 daffodils clumps and a lone tulip clump, are behind a fence at home in Missoula. At the lake - where the deer and gophers and voles are all vying to be first to eat anything I plant - NOTHING is in bloom now. However, I spy the 3” long green blades of Iris coming up. Can I hope for more blooms this summer? It’s year 3 since planting them.

Wow, I have missed a lot of recent news on the trauma front, and want to add my condolences and reassurances to all who are impacted by these sad and scary events.
I came on here to post a petty personal trauma, and now I feel silly. Because it really is petty. But short of starting a new thread for “really petty personal traumas” what are my options?
My fingertips are a mess from all the bleach water I used to clean the Sanibel house in preparation for the long hot humid summer months. I’m right-handed, and it’s just my right hand that’s been impacted. I think I killed a lot of skin cells on my fingertips, and that made them exquisitely sensitive to heat. Then they started cracking and my thumb was the proverbial “sore thumb” that sticks out and gets hurt over and over again. Now my fingers are peeling and it’s like having dozens of hangnails.
But the most frustrating thing is trying to use my iPhone as the touch screen doesn’t recognize my fingers as l being alive! I am making constant typos and backing up and correcting in order to type anything. Very frustrating. But petty.

Even Kevin McCarthy knows Santos doesn’t belong in Congress. But he needs his vote for his very slim majority, so he says Santos shouldn’t run for re-election but should finish his term. Shameful!

I realize I’ve been remiss in not updating this old thread in awhile. The log cabin was restored and preserved using the grant made by me and my sisters in memory of our parents. It should be around for a good long while now. There have been MORE staff turnovers, but the new people still claim that the Otis Farm Bird Sanctuary is one of their top priorities in the almost 2 dozen properties they manage. Meanwhile, my youngest sister died tragically and unexpectedly 3 years ago from head injuries suffered in a stairway fall, and my remaining sister and I made a contribution in her memory to fund a Little Free Library at the Otis Farm. (She was a librarian, so it seemed appropriate.). The LFL stands in a native plant garden with several benches. I’ll try to post photos when I find them. (The garden had not been planted yet when the Audubon staffer took these photos for us.)

I went on a binge of rewatching This is Us season 1 on the long flight home from Florida yesterday. I’m glad I did. I had watched 6 or 8 episodes on the way to Florida last month and watched another 6 or 8 on the way back. There were huge chunks of storyline that I had no recall of whatsoever. Maybe I went on a trip back then and Mr. Kimby kept watching without me?
Anyway, how sweet it was to spend more time with these characters that I grew to love and then were taken away from us when the series wrapped up. I wonder how wrenching it must be for a series cast when the show ends and their little family breaks up. It must be like having 8 deaths in the family all at once.
And then the actors go on to other projects. I see ads for Milo Ventimiglia’s new series THE COMPANY YOU KEEP. Has anyone seen it? Is it any good?
I can’t imagine him not being Jack Pearson. I see on IMDB that he also starred in the film The Art of Racing in the Rain, a story I loved as a book, and will have to try to watch on DVD.

Dua Lipa’s structured black-trimmed white gown was boring in a good way. Ashley Park knows how to pose in her black gown. If you make it to “the end” you’ll know why they chose that foto of lil naz for the finale.

In my defense, I only saw a couple episodes on an airplane seatback video system. Thought it had promise.
But it’s not something we can get from our library, so I probably won’t see more of it. (After these reviews, I might not even look for it on airplanes.)

Roseanne Cash did a version of “Man Smart, Woman Smarter” that came out around 1980. I recognized the song but no one believed me when I said Harry Belafonte had done it. But my parents had the LP and I knew I was right!
