Bix, thanks for posting that link, I found it most helpful. *SNORK!* *snork...snork...snork* (however, normally, only one *snork* is needed.) Bixa, did you invent the word *snork*? I love it, I love the sound of it, and find it simply perfect for those moments of....how can I best fully express my desire to say many many things in in one word? Will the person understand what *snork* means? (I seriously doubt it. )

I thought it was my very own, but another poster once claimed it was the province of a thorn tree poster. Humph, I say, humph.
You know how sometimes when you get started laughing, it's hard to control how you breathe? My son thought it was the height of wit to get me started laughing in a public place. Once I was yukking it up, he'd lean over and murmur, "Mom -- don't snort!" You can imagine the uncontrollable reaction that caused.
Perhaps we should stop making this noise, lest we be mistaken for truffle-hunting virgins.

That low pressure system in the Gulf may turn into an event, tentatively named "Anna". All the rain we were supposed to get dodged us and veered north. My friends on holiday in FLA said it was gusting there last p.m.

Still no rain, the rest of the region is getting hammered. I finally watered everything and put the top down on the car. Now it will surely rain.

Some of you should start a paranoia thread.

Post by rikita on May 24, 2009 22:02:12 GMT
but then each time we are paranoid we could be told we have to take it to the paranoia thread. it might be the end of being scared wherever one wants to!

June 1, and the media people have made sure (for days now) we know that it's the official commencement of the Atlantic hurricane season. I went to one of the big box home retail stores yesterday to buy some garden supplies, the garden center section was as dead as could be. Normally on a Sunday morning especially this time of year that section is teeming with people. The parking lot was fairly occupied. All the check out people were in the main store as there were lines of people buying up batteries and other related items. It's a long season I'm afraid...

Y'all can't believe how it's raining here! We've had very little since April, when the rainy season should have begun, but it's making up for it now --- three days in a row of gully-washers. yay!

Quite a few showers daily here as well. The temperature is very bearable. Probably a few degrees lower that the 35 mentioned above by HT! More like 26- 28 here.

About 23 and sunshine, quite pleasant. Forcast for the weekend is quite sad though. Never mind, we had a really nice April and May so it does not worry me to get a few rainy days. I just hope it's not going to last until next saturday as then we have a school reunion planned, big BBQ and of course all outsied.

It has been hot and sunny for a few days, but right now we are having a thunderstorm and it's pouring. Maybe the grass in my garden will turn green again -- it was turning a bit yellow, which doesn't usually happen so early in the season.

In Paris, sunny and mild -- but we would like it to be just a tad too 'hot' so that we can complain while reveling in it.
