Kimby, your lovely picture is very Maxfield Parrish.
Great silhouette, 6Lucky, but that wonderfully moody second pic just sends me.

I rudely failed to mention how much I like your beach sequence, in particular the very Winslow Homer last one.

Highway in the Sky. Not yet clouds but they will become one, formed in the same way by water vapour being squeezed out of cooling air.

Super shot Kimby. A great example of adiabatic clouds, which are formed by the wind over mountains or hills, which forces the air to rise and the cloud to condense out of it. Generally called altocumulus lenticularis, but yours is an extreme example. If you did Latin at school, "lenticular" is "lens shaped"

Thanks, guys.
I didn't do Latin formally, but got a lot of it in my botany classes. And some plants have lenticels, too.

Hooked cirrus. A sign of wind at altitude and a precursor of a front which hopefully will chase our cold weather away, providing that the Scandinavian high will allow itself to be shoved out of the way. I hate Scandinavians ;D ;D
