Sod pretty. I was built for warm weather. I would say you’re built for comfort rather than speed.

I was built to be a woman's plaything. Speed is not advisable.

We have moved into a period of not very cold but cloudy days. It is rumoured that it might last until Christmas.

Bloody cold in Milano. And damp and dark. I was in a shithole east of it and felt for 2 prostitutes walking a truck parking in miniskirt. Poor souls.

It's better than you "felt" for them instead of "fell" for them.

After the last two scorching days we had a mild hailstorm yesterday and 5pm. The stones were too small to do any car damage thankfully. Today very overcast and there is a nip in the air. I prefer today!

On this side of the world, we are approaching the shortest days of the year and a lot of northern Europe is under a blanket of grey. Today it was as though the sun had never come up, the day was dim and I turned on the lights in my flat.

It was cold (2°) this morning, but the sun warmed things up and it was really nice, even though we didn't get above about 9 or 10°. No rain for a few days, although we get lots of fog in the nights. Then colder until Tuesday until we get milder and rain at the end of next week.

It is supposed to freeze absolutey everywhere in France tonight except the Basque area (near bjd) and probably Paris which always has a fever and will probably only get down to 2 or 3 degrees.

It's either 78 or 76 (26C/24) here, depending on which weather app I consult. I am informed that it "feels like" 73/23, which is nice. 0 mph wind, 44% humidity, with clouds but mostly sunny. (five minutes to 1 pm my time)

bjd the weather there today sounds absolutely lovely!
It began snowing yesterday afternoon and when we woke up this morning it was so pretty. The sun was shining most of the day but clouds have now closed in and we are expecting another night of snow. The lake is almost frozen over. It is still quite mild as well, -5C today.

It is still quite mild as well, -5C today. You can tell the Canadian! On another forum, an Australian in Melbourne said he wore longjohns all winter -- it never seems to go below about 5° or 6° in mid-winter there. Another Canadian and I thought that was hilarious.

When this Ossie lived in the hills behind Adelaide we had to take a kettle of boiling water to the
chook shed to break up the ice so the chooks could get a drink. Coldest was about -6C.
For the un-initiated...chook = chicken.
