I heard that there is going to be a full moon at Christmas for something like the first time in 38 years. Will this make gift deliveries easier for flying sleds?

The full moon for Christmas is still filling in but looking good.

It's nice to see what I looks like. We'll have no moon here.

That's about what it looks like here too although not quite as blurry. Very windy though, eerily so as the clouds swiftly pass by the light of the moon.

It is a great pic HTMB. (meant to include that in my post last pm but was a bit bleary eyed).

Thanks! As I was taking photos of the moon, my eight year old granddaughter came out with her kindle and took some pictures alongside me. It was a nice moment.

The sliver of the All Saints Night moon over Oaxaca last night was as good as it gets.

Spectacular photo K2.
It was quite clear and very visible here as well.
I thought I saw a couple of shooting stars as well while walking home from a small neighborhood "porch party" (and one of Bixa's former abodes). As serendipity would have it the hostess's night blooming Cereus had 11 blooms!

Great shot Kerouac.
Surely that had to have been taken sometime last week though, no?

Yes, just a couple a days ago. The fact that there were wisps of cloud in front of the moon motivated me, since I know very well that my previous incredibly clear photo is technically better.

In this year of 13 moons, it appears that we will be having a blue moon on 31 October.

Last night's Full Moon was so stunning and brilliant!! The sky here was crystal clear. We walked up to the batture and watched it rise. ORANGE and ever so bright! Later, after arriving back home, we sat on the balcony and looked at it some more while sipping the last of the wine we had stocked for the hurricane. (an important provision!)

I saw that the blue moon is called the hunter's moon in France.

I saw that the blue moon is called the hunter's moon in France. Doesn’t it have a French name then? La lune de something or the other?

Mars is looking pretty good atm here in the UK. Hopefully it will still be in a good position for viewing when the fireworks have finished...the sky was fabulous (for a built up area) earlier this evening.

That moon is also called a hunter's moon (I think - Jägermond) in German.

I'm quite excited about the Chinese moon mission. The first photos look spectacular. And at least they chose a completely different area from all of the Apollo missions. Maybe they'll pick up some different stuff.

That middle picture is perfect! I'll look out for it tonight in hopes of finding a vantage point to see it tomorrow night. There is way too much light pollution where I live.
